If you’ve ever worked with Rachel Morgan, you know there’s something magnetic about her. Maybe it’s her calm, confident energy. Maybe it’s the way she sees possibility in every square foot. Or maybe it’s the fact that she makes you feel like your wine collection truly matters — because to her, it does.
For the past nine years, Rachel has been at the heart of our wine cellar design team, turning clients’ visions into spaces that feel as personal as they are polished. Born and raised in Miami, Rachel’s roots are as vibrant and layered as the city itself — and it shows in her work. Her designs fuse natural materials with sleek, modern lines, a balance that reflects both her love of the outdoors and her appreciation for contemporary style.
“A cellar is not just for wine — it’s for the people who gather around it,” Rachel says. “That’s how I approach every design — it’s not about the racks or the lighting. It’s about the feeling you get when you walk in.”
A Path Paved By Passion and Purpose
Rachel studied business at Long Beach State, with a minor in interior design — but it wasn’t until she spent over seven years working for a large wine cellar company that she found her niche. While she gained invaluable experience there, something felt off.
“Clients were being rushed. Upsold. It didn’t sit right with me,” she says. “I knew there had to be a better way — more personal, more thoughtful, more design-focused.”
That realization eventually led her to Custom Wine Cellars Miami, where she could finally bring her full vision to life: one where design and function meet emotion and experience.
Her Signature Style
Rachel is known for her creative eye, warm presence, and unrelenting attention to detail. She’s hands-on with every project — leading design plans, visiting job sites regularly, and making sure that every material, finish, and layout choice reflects the client’s vision.
She’s especially drawn to working with wood — walnut, maple, white oak — and giving traditional textures a modern twist. Her dream home wine cellar? A sleek, black-framed glass enclosure with custom walnut and maple shelving, polished concrete floors, and soft uplighting — a nod to Miami’s modern edge, grounded in nature.
“Details don’t just matter — they make the space,” she often says. And her clients would agree.
A Design That Made a Client Cry
One of Rachel’s most memorable projects involved a client who owned a rare 1945 Château Mouton Rothschild and was terrified it wouldn’t be stored safely.
Rachel got to work — designing a climate-controlled display wall with remote refrigeration control and a specially secured presentation slot for the prized bottle. The rest of the cellar was built around it, using soft wood tones to let the display shine. When the client saw the finished space, they cried.
“That’s when you know you’ve done more than build a cellar,” Rachel says. “You’ve honored something meaningful.”
Inspired by Nature, Grounded in People
When Rachel isn’t sketching out floorplans or meeting clients on-site, you’ll likely find her scuba diving or hiking with her family. Nature, she says, resets her creativity — and shows up in her work through texture, material choices, and a deep sense of calm in the spaces she designs.
Lately, she’s especially interested in blending modern functionality into traditional wine cellar design, finding ways to respect heritage while embracing innovation.
